Bicondoa Goes the Distance in Fielders 6-1 Win

Ryan Bicondoa (1-2) surrendered just one run on six hits in a complete-game effort for Lake County as the Fielders (11-18) defeated the Kansas City T-Bones (19-13), 6-1, in front of 5,467 Tuesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Lake County opened the scoring in the third off Kansas City starter Ryan Knippschild (5-2) on an RBI single by Joshua Short. The T-Bones tied the game in the fourth when Jim Fasano drove in their lone run with an RBI single.

The Fielders took the lead in the seventh on an RBI singles by Kyle Higgins and Joseph Ramos and a sacrifice fly by Amos Ramon. Knippschild left with one out in the inning, but was charged with all three runs, allowing four runs, three earned, over six and one-thirds innings in the loss. The left-hander struck out a season high eight in the loss.

Drew Graham entered and got the final two outs of the frame, giving up one hit.

David Parker, who was signed prior to the game, worked the eighth inning, surrendering a two-run home run to Jeff Dunbar. Parker allowed four hits and two runs in his debut inning.

Bicondoa struck out eight without walking a batter in the victory.

Kansas City wraps up their 10-game homestand Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. with a rubber match against Lake County. The T-Bones send right-hander Andrew Cruse (3-2, 0.71) to face Fielders right-hander Zach Ward (1-3, 3.26).
