Jacob Blackwood (pictured) connected for two two-run home runs for the T-Bones (2-0) tonight as Kansas City took game two of a four-game series against the Gary SouthShore RailCats (0-2), 8-3.

Jim Fasano gave Kansas City a quick 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning against Brandon Magee (0-1).  Ryan Fox then pushed the lead to two in the next frame with a leadoff home run, his first of the season.  The T-Bones continued to roll in the third, adding two more on RBI singles by Ray Sadler and Brian Joynt to gain a 4-0 advantage.

Magee left after a scoreless fourth, taking the loss after surrendering four runs, three earned, on seven hits.

University of Kansas product Ryan Knippschild (1-0) retired nine of the first 11 batters he faced before a solo home run by Jay Pecci brought Gary within three in the fourth, 4-1.  Pecci drove in another run in the fifth with a sacrifice fly to bring the RailCats within two.

Knippschild left after the fifth inning, earning the victory after allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking one.

Brett Davis threw three innings of relief in place of Knippschild, surrendering a single tally on an RBI double by Louis Ott in the seventh.  Kyle Dahman, signed out of open tryouts earlier this month, threw a scoreless ninth to close out the game for the T-Bones.

Blackwood hit his first two-run shot off Tom Thornton in the sixth.  The former Florida Marlins farmhand added his second two-run blast in the eighth against Aaron Cook to push the final score to 8-3.  Blackwood finished three-for-five with four RBI in the contest.  Keanon Simon also posted a three-hit game for Kansas City, going three-for-four with three runs scored.
