The Wichita Wingnuts lost 3-1 to the Kansas City T-Bones at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Saturday night.

Kansas City took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on an unearned run and never trailed afterward.  Jimmy Mojica lead off the inning with a single and advanced to second on an errant pickoff throw by Steve Pearson.  Michael Thompson's throw on a bunt attempt by Keanon Simon collided with Simon's foot, eventually allowing Mojica to score from second.

The T-Bones used an RBI single from Jim Fasano to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth.  Fasano drove in Ray Sadler who doubled to deep center field leading off the inning.

The Wingnuts finally got on the board in the seventh.  Patrick Brooks lined a single to left-center.  Two batter later, and with Brooks in motion, Steve Pearson doubled off the warning track in deep right field to plate Brooks all the way from first and cut the lead in half.

The T-Bones added an insurance run in the top of the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Eladio Rodriguez.

Wichita turned four double plays in the game.  Nick Singleton started for Wichita and took the loss, but did not allow an earned run in three innings of work.  Will Morgan, Dustin Pease, Matt Petty, and Justin Dowdy all turned in scoreless relief innings, combining for five strikeouts.

Brett Davis (pictured) earned the win in relief of starter Cody McAllister.  Davis pitched two perfect innings in the fourth and fifth.

The two teams finish their short two-game set tomorrow night at 5:05 p.m.  Kansas City returns home for back-to-back exhibition contests against Kansas City Kansas Community College starting Tuesday, May 11.  Tickets are available at the T-Bones box office or by calling 913-328-5618.  Both home exhibitions, set for Tuesday and Wednesday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, start at 7:05 p.m.
