07/27/2009 9:52 AM -

The Winnipeg Goldeyes and Gary SouthShore RailCats continue to set the pace in the Northern League standings, and both squads will be in Kansas City this week.

First-place Winnipeg comes to town with a series beginning Tuesday, July 28.  At 7:05 Tuesday night, the T-Bones and Goldeyes will start their matchup with the completion of a suspended game from June 23.  The two teams are tied at four with one out in the top of the 11th inning.  Following that contest, the two teams will play their normally scheduled nine-inning contest.

Also on Tuesday, there will be a $6 steak special at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  For just $6, fans will get a 6 oz steak from the concession stands.  It is also Reading Program Night presented by Providence Medical Center and Chipotle will provide coupons for the first 1,500 fans.

On Wednesday, the teams will again finish a suspended game, this time a contest that Kansas City leads 1-0 in the top of the third.  The suspended game will start at 6:05 p.m. and a seven-inning game will follow.  There will be a 2-for-1 special on domestic draft beers on Wednesday night as well as a thunderstix giveaway.

Thursday will be the T-Bones final home day game of the 2009 season.  As always on Thursdays, it is Kansas City Star Family Day.  For just $40, fans will get four tickets, four hot dogs, four peanuts and four sodas.  First pitch is set for 11:05.

A three-game series starts with Gary on Friday night at 7:05.  The T-Bones will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with any fan that wears green receiving 2-for-1 KCI High-Fly Zone Bleacher Reserved tickets.  Schlitterbahn will provide beach towels to the first 5,000 fans promoting their Hawaiian theme.  For Friday night, all small domestic draft beers from the concession stand will be just $3.

Saturday is Back to School Night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  Any fan that brings unopened school supplies to donate will receive a half-price KCI High-Fly Zone Bleacher Reserved ticket.  The first 4,500 fans will also receive a T-Bones sports bag courtesy of Providence Medical Center and Rockin’ Ray and the Sky Dogs will be on hand for in-game entertainment.  Fireworks presented by Verizon Wireless will follow at the end of the contest.  First pitch is set for 7:05.

The homestand concludes on Sunday with Breast Cancer Awareness Night sponsored by the Kansas City Cancer Center and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  The T-Bones will wear special jerseys and fans will be able to bid on their favorite, with the winners being awarded the actual game-worn jersey.  The T-Bones will expand their everyday $1 hot dog special to include peanuts, popsicles, cotton candy and chips.  Following the game, kids will be able to run the bases courtesy of the Midwest Dairy Council.
