The Kansas City T-Bones (24-24) collected a team record eight doubles as they defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (22-24), 13-0, in front of 8,761 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark during Military Appreciation Night.  The crowd was the seventh largest in team history and the largest thus far this season.

Greg Jacobs used a sacrifice fly off Broc Coffman (6-4) in the first to plate the T-Bones first run of the contest.  Kansas City scored four runs on five hits in the inning, capping off the frame with a two-run double from Jim Fasano and RBI single by Neb Brown.  They added five runs on three hits and two errors in the second, the final two coming on a home run by Ryan Fox, his league-leading 17th of the season.  Four of the runs in the inning were unearned off Coffman.

Damian Rolls hit an RBI single in the third to plate the 10th run of the game, and Brown added an RBI double in the fourth to push the lead to 11.  Jacobs hit an RBI double and Fasano an RBI single in the fifth to finish the scoring and give Kansas City a 13-0 advantage. 

Coffman left after four and two-thirds innings, surrendering 13 runs, nine earned, on 17 hits in the loss.

Overshadowed by the offense were seven shutout innings from Luis Villarreal (3-3).  The all-star left-hander allowed only two hits while striking out seven in the victory.  Fargo was able to push just one runner to third against Villarreal, who lowered his ERA to 2.53 with his outing.

Villarreal was replaced by Payton Tweddale who threw a scoreless eighth for the T-Bones.  Daniel Sattler finished off the contest by retiring the side in the ninth.

With a double by Mark Minicozzi in the eighth, the T-Bones set a new team record for doubles in a game with eight.  Seven T-Bones joined in the doubles effort, with Fasano leading the way with two.

PRIME CUTS:  Kansas City signed rookie catcher Cody Neer to a contract prior to tonight’s contest.  Neer comes from the University of Nebraska, where he spent the last two seasons after transferring from the University of Florida.  Neer hit a career-high .292 in 37 games with Nebraska in 2009, posting two home runs and 22 RBI on the season.
