The Kansas City T-Bones (21-20) won their season-high sixth straight game tonight, defeating the Joliet JackHammers (15-29), 5-2, at Silver Cross Field in Joliet, Illinois.  The current win streak is Kansas City’s longest since they won six straight from June 1-6, 2005.

The JackHammers got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead against Cody McAllister (4-0) when Adam Klein led off the third inning with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by former T-Bone Brad Correll.

Kansas City quickly answered with a four-run fourth off Jason Novak (1-3), scoring the first two runs on a two-run home run by Ryan Fox, his 11th of the season.  Jacob Blackwood doubled to plate Mark Minicozzi and scored on a double by Aharon Eggleston to cap off the frame as the T-Bones gained a 4-1 advantage.

Phil Avlas drove in the final Joliet run with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth to bring the JackHammers within two.  Craig Hurba blasted his 11th home run of the season off reliever Derrick Barrows in the fifth to cap the score at 5-2.

McAllister threw a career-high seven innings for Kansas City, allowing two runs on seven hits in the victory.  He has picked up a win in each of his first three career starts.

Novak allowed four runs on six hits over four innings in the loss.

Weston Curles threw a perfect eighth, striking out one in relief of McAllister.  Nate Cotton earned his fourth save for the T-Bones with a perfect ninth.  Kansas City hurlers retired 13 of the final 14 JackHammers they faced.

Eggleston paced the T-Bones hitters with a four-for-five night, collecting two doubles and an RBI in the contest.

Kansas City goes for their seventh straight victory and the series sweep tomorrow night, sending Dustin Bolton (2-2, 8.08) to the mound to face Rory Shortell (2-2, 3.63) and the JackHammers.  First pitch is set for 7:05.
