The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (11-15) blasted five home runs en route to an 11-4 win over the Kansas City T-Bones (12-13) tonight at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, N.D.

Fargo opened the scoring against Chris Rhoads (2-1) in the third inning with a two-run home run by Yurendell DeCaster, his seventh of the season.  After Jim Fasano brought the T-Bones within one with a solo home run off Scott Fogelson (1-2) in the top of the fourth, Carlo Cota added two more on the first of his two home runs on the night in the bottom of the frame for a 4-1 RedHawks’ advantage.

Ryan Fox pulled Kansas City within two with a solo home run in the fifth, his league-leading eighth of the season.  Fogelson left with two outs in the sixth inning, earning the victory after allowing two runs on six hits.

Weston Curles relieved Rhoads in the sixth and surrendered three home runs, two of the solo variety to Cota and Zach Penprase, and a two-run shot to Nic Jackson as Fargo took an 8-2 lead.  Cota finished two-for-four with two home runs and three RBI for the RedHawks.

Rhoads allowed four runs on five hits over five innings in the loss.

The T-Bones scored their final two runs without the benefit of a hit in the seventh inning.  Craig Hurba and Fox each drew a walk off David Arnold to begin the frame.  After two quick outs were induced by reliever Matt Mosset, Aharon Eggleston walked to load the bases for Damian Rolls.  Hurba scored the first run when Rolls was hit by a pitch and Fox came home when the next batter, Greg Jacobs, drew a walk of his own.

Mosset finished the game for Fargo, earning the save with three innings of relief.

Payton Tweddale entered for Curles in the seventh, throwing a perfect frame before allowing three runs on three hits in the eighth.  DeCaster doubled home two runs and scored the final tally for Fargo on a single by Randall Simon to cap the score at 11-4.

Kansas City looks to prevent the sweep tomorrow afternoon as they send ace hurler Luis Villarreal (1-1, 2.32) to the hill against a pitcher to be determined for the RedHawks.  First pitch is set for 1:00.
