T-Bones Set Home Exhibition Schedule

02/04/2009 9:33 AM -

The Kansas City T-Bones have finalized their two-game home exhibition schedule for the 2009 season.  Both games will be played against returning competition:  May 4 against the Kansas City Kansas Community College Blue Devils and May 12 opposite the River City Rascals.

“We’re happy and excited to have these teams back for another year,” said general manager Chris Browne.  “It offers a great opportunity for our fans to get a sneak peak at their team.  It’s also a good way for the Blue Devils to cap off their season.”

KCKCC has been a springtime staple at CommunityAmerica Ballpark as they have played their home games at the T-Bones home park since 2004.  Head coach Steve Burleson, who coached major leaguers David Segui and Kevin Young, is enjoying his 30th season at KCKCC.  This will mark the third time the two teams have faced off.

The Rascals hail from O’Fallon, Missouri and the independent Frontier League.  The team was formed prior to the 1999 season after moving from Zanesville, Ohio where they played from 1993 to 1996 as the Greys.  River City is managed by Chad Parker and plays their home games at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O’Fallon, Missouri.  It will also be the Rascals third consecutive appearance as an exhibition foe for Kansas City.

As is the case with all regular season T-Bones games at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, parking is free and hot dogs are just $1 during these exhibition contests.  Tickets for the exhibition games will be available for purchase in late-March along with individual tickets for the 2009 regular season.  Season tickets, group tickets, mini-plans and All-You-Can-Eat tickets are available now by calling 913-328-5618.
