05/17/2008 9:25 PM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones jumped out to an early six-run lead and rode a stellar outing from Mark Michael to pick up a victory over the Winnipeg Goldeyes tonight at Canwest Park, 9-0.
 
After the T-Bones loaded the bases with their first three hitters of the contest, Jim Fasano cleared them with a double off Robert Ransom to give Kansas City a quick 3-0 advantage.  Then, in the third inning, Kansas City picked up three more, the first two on an RBI double by Kevin Mahar and an RBI single by Neb Brown.  A dropped fly ball by Tydus Meadows allowed Nick Jaros to reach safely while Craig Hurba, who also reached on an error by first baseman Scott Schade, came home for the third tally.
 
Ransom left after throwing 63 pitches in three innings, surrendering six runs, five earned, on six hits in a losing effort.
 
Michael was stellar in his first outing for Kansas City, facing the minimum through four innings thanks to two double plays and a caught stealing.  He allowed another baserunner in the fifth, but kept Winnipeg hitless until the sixth inning when Dustin Richardson, who entered as an injury replacement for Schade in the fourth, singled to lead off the frame.  Michael left with two outs in the sixth having allowed just two hits while striking out four.
 
Rick Rivas replaced Michael and ended the sixth with a flyout by Brent Metheny.  He would pitch two more scoreless innings, allowing just one hit in that span.  David Haehnel threw a perfect ninth to close out the win for Michael.
 
Aharon Eggleston added another run with an RBI single in the fifth off Ivan Blanco.  Brad Correll (pictured) blasted his first home run of the season in the top of the ninth off Ryan Ariail to make the score 9-0, plating Geoff McCallum who reached on the third Goldeyes error of the night.  Steve Trout made his T-Bones debut with a flyout to right pinch hitting for Rob Watson in the ninth.
 
Game Notes:  The T-Bones turned four double plays in the game, tying a franchise record they had accomplished four times, twice in regulation nine-inning contests…Nick Jaros was called out for not touching third base while attempting to score on Eggleston’s fifth-inning single…Winnipeg has committed three errors in two consecutive games.
