Gentile Visits BASE Camp

Armed with boxes full of children’s toys and Orlando City gear, Orlando City Forward Giuseppe Gentile and BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation teamed up to visit children at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The visit would surely be an unforgettable experience, as Gentile was able to engage with the children and even sign autographs.

“Visiting with the children at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children was truly a life-changing experience for me,” said Gentile. “It was such an honor to be able to spend time with the children, especially as they go through such tumultuous times. It gave me a different perspective on things.”

BASE Camp provides year-round support and for children and families in Orlando and Central Florida who are facing cancer and other hematological illnesses. BASE Camp is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization in Winter Park Florida U.S.A., and an affiliate of American Childhood Cancer Organization.

“Gentile’s visit brightened so many of our BASE Camp children’s day!” BASE Camp President and Co-Founder Terri Jones Robbins said. “The gifts he brought the children gave them a perfect diversion from what was really going on: treatments, boredom of being in the hospital and fear. It’s amazing what a visit from an Orlando City Soccer player can do.”
