WINNIPEG, MB — The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced Tuesday that right-handed reliever Drasen Johnson has been activated from the disabled list. In a corresponding move, infielder Alex Crosby has been placed on the disabled list with an illness retroactive to June 24th.
Johnson had been suffering a back injury and has been on the disabled list since June 10. Before being placed on the disabled list, Johnson was 2-2 with a 0.69 ERA, two saves and two holds in a team-high 10 relief appearances. In 13 innings, Johnson has allowed just one earned run and hasn’t walked a single hitter.
Crosby has played in 33 games in 2017—mostly at first base—and has a .270 average with a home run and 10 RBI. Crosby’s also has scored nine runs, has hit a pair of doubles, and has two stolen bases.
Gary returns home to U.S. Steel Yard on Monday, July 3rd for the start of a seven-game homestand. Monday’s game vs. Fargo-Moorhead is at 7:10 p.m. and is another MetroPCS Monday. Monday’s series opener against the RedHawks is also the inaugural Fourth of Juluau Pig Roast, presented by Berey Bros., and features Fireworks and Barefoot Hawaiian Fire Dancers.
