City starts Open Cup against amateur side for second straight season
ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City Soccer Club announced today their second round match up for the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.  The Orlando City Lions will face USASA side KC Athletics on May 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

KC Athletics are an amateur team from Kansas City, Kansas.  2012 is their second time playing in the US Open Cup.  In 2010, they were knocked out in the first round 4-2 by NSC Minnesota Stars.  This season, KC advanced to the second round after defeating PDL side Real Colorado Foxes 3-1 on May 15.
Orlando City is 1-0 all-time against teams from the USASA, the United States Adult Soccer Association.  Last season, the Lions defeated ASC New Stars 4-0 in the club’s first-ever Open Cup match.

The winner of the match advances to the third round of the tournament, and will face a team from Major League Soccer.  The date and location of the third round match will be announced by US Soccer on May 23.
