ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City Soccer Club announced today the initial Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup schedule for the first and second rounds. The Orlando City Under 23s begin the 2012 Open Cup campaign at home on May 15 at 7 p.m. against 2011 NPSL National Champion Jacksonville United. The Orlando City Lions, the pro side of Orlando City Soccer Club, begin Open Cup play in the second round. They will face either amateur side K.C. Athletics or Premier Development League team Real Colorado Foxes. The date and location of the match has not been determined. The Orlando City U23s qualified for the 2012 Open Cup through the Central Florida Kraze’s regular season results during the 2011 PDL campaign. Should they advance to the second round, the U23s will ignite the War on I-4 Rivalry for soccer with a match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League (NASL). The time and date of the potential match have not been determined. The Central Florida Kraze, now the Orlando City Under 23s, are 0-4 all time in the Open Cup. Last season, the Kraze lost 4-0 to USL PRO side Wilmington Hammerheads. Tickets for the May 15 match will be sold at the gate. Adults (age 17 and up) tickets are $10. Children (age 16 and below) are $5. Only cash will be accepted for tickets. Ticket details for second round matches will be announced at a later date.
