Hunting for recordsThe Lions are stalking a record this weekend
The last time Orlando City Soccer Club tasted defeat was at the hands of the Charleston Battery on July 9, 2011. Since the away loss to the Battery, the Lions have won every single match they’ve played. With this season’s victories over Charlotte, Wilmington and Richmond, last year’s streak goes on today. At seven matches, City now holds the USL Regular Season win streak. Orlando broke the record, previously shared by defeating one of the previous record holders - the Richmond Kickers. Antigua Barracuda FC also shared the record with Richmond. When including last season’s playoff victories against Charleston, Richmond and the Harrisburg City Islanders in the Championship final, our win streak extends to ten matches in USL PRO competition. This makes Orlando City the holders of the overall record. With two records in hand, the Lions are just getting started. With three wins in three matches in the 2012 campaign, City have sights set on breaking another USL win streak record. Currently held by the Richmond Kickers, the Lions are hunting the USL record for consecutive wins to start the regular season. The mark stands at six. With victories in their next four matches the Lions will cement themselves as kings of the USL. To join the hunt and help the Lions stalk the streak, call 855-ORL-CITY to get your tickets for Saturday’s match against the Richmond Kickers. Tickets start at just $15! |
