Official statement regarding fireworks at the Citrus BowlAn official statement on fireworks at the Citrus Bowl
At our last home game against Philadelphia Union on Feb 18th, after Max Griffin’s thrilling last-minute equalizer, certain members of the crowd let off fireworks to celebrate the goal. While we appreciate the passionate nature of the fans and love their support for their team, the lighting of fireworks in the Citrus Bowl is something that cannot be tolerated.Lighting and/or setting off fireworks in the Citrus Bowl is a major issue for several reasons: · It is a safety hazard for those in the crowd · It is a fire hazard and could damage the field surface · Fireworks are in direct violation with our lease at the Citrus Bowl and put in danger our ability to continue to play at the venue! These actions directly affect the safety of the other members of the crowd and the ability of Orlando City to play games at the Citrus Bowl. They will not be tolerated in any way, shape or form. Should anyone set-off fireworks in the stadium again, those responsible will be immediately removed, arrested and banned from all Orlando City and Citrus Bowl events - no exceptions! |
