He was chosen to become a member of the U-20 roster for the U-20 World Cup in Egypt later that year. He totaled 12 caps for the U.S. U-20 team in 2009. Davies began his professional career with English side Southampton FC, playing for their youth and reserve squads from 2007-2009. Coming back to the United States after his time in England, Davies signed a deal with the Major League Soccer in early 2009. The California native made a total of 14 appearances for Dallas, including 12 starts between the 2009 and ’10 MLS seasons. The defender joined the Los Angeles Galaxy after his two years in Dallas. The defender was traded from the Galaxy to Toronto in September, being waived by the Canadian club two months later. He began training with Orlando at the end of February, right around the start of the Disney PSC. Orlando City Head Coach Adrian Heath commented on Davies signing “We’ve gained someone with a lot of experience for the young age of 22,” said Heath. “We’ve only had him in training for a bit but I can already tell he can develop into a great player that can eventually get back into the MLS.” Transaction: Orlando City (USL PRO) signs Defender Kyle Davies Kyle Davies Position: Defender Height: 5’10” Weight: 160 Birth Date: 4/11/1989 Hometown: Oakland, Calif.
