The Morning Roar: Winning feels pretty goodSpirits lifted by a win over Old Dominion
What better way to start your day than with a little Orlando City info? It's time for the Morning Roar!It feels good to win, doesn't it? Sure, it was over a college team, but any time you end the match ahead, you can't help but feel good about your team. If we didn't win, well that would bring on a whole different set of problems. What made last night's win even better was that it came on a Monday, so the entire front office will be feeling good all week. Looking ahead at the rest of the week, we're planning on a lot of Under 23s news. Starting today, expect a player signing or coaching announcement every day this week (as long as the paperwork goes through!). Our goal is to treat the U-23s like pros, since that's the long term goal with every player we bring in to the PDL squad. It's called the Premier Development League for a reason. The development of a player doesn't end on the training pitch. Speaking of PDL players, it was great to see one of the already announced PDL signings get some playing time last night. Nico Russo, who grew up in the legendary Boca Juniors system, came in late and put in a solid nine minutes of work along with fellow youngster Harrison Heath. Russo and Heath train with the first team every day, gaining valuable experience. Even though we're very focused on winning another championship, it's great to see that there's an eye focused on future player development. |
