College friendlies kick off today
What better way to start your day than with a little Orlando City info?  It's time for the Morning Roar!

Good morning, City fans!  One of my favorite times of the season begins today, so I'm especially excited.  It's College Friendlies season!  Why am I so excited about seemingly meaningless matches played at random locations?  Good question.  Indulge me for a bit.

Last week was pretty rough.  The highs of Don Garber's visit aside, two games in three days against two very, very good teams takes its toll.  There was a lot of pressure surrounding this year's Disney PSC, and despite the results, we gave a fantastic account of ourselves.  Still, most people only see a 0-2-1 record, not the fact that were were the better side compared to Toronto, or that we played for 85 minutes with 10 men against Dallas.  The College Friendlies series is a chance to wipe all of that away.

The college friendlies are exactly what you'd expect, relatively easy games that boost the squad's confidence.  That's exactly what we need right now.  Our lads aren't down on themselves by any means, but it's not exactly a secret that winning and scoring a lot of goals makes you feel pretty good about heading into the season.

Last season, we headed into the College Friendlies following a frustrating loss to BK Hacken.  It turned out just fine last year, didn't it?

The College Friendlies series kicks off today at 5 pm at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.  For more information, visit the Game Info Page.  You can follow the match on our matchday Twitter feed, @OCMatchDayLive.
