City Council Passes Temporary Permit Temporary permit will kick-start Orlando City SC's rebranding process
The City of Orlando Council approved a temporary permit today that will kick-start Orlando City SC’s rebranding process, which is set to occur early this week. The temporary permit will allow prominent local artists the opportunity to create murals on various private buildings throughout the City of Orlando, featuring the new Orlando City SC MLS logo while also incorporating unique aspects of the City Beautiful. The private buildings that will house the murals until June 9 are: WBQ Design and Engineering, The Jungle, Dexter’s Thornton Park, Harry Buffalo, Seminole Soccer Complex, Maximum Entertainment Group, and the electrical box at the corner of Bumby Avenue and Colonial. Seven local artists are responsible for the paintings, including Juan Torres, Timmy Dub, Julio Lima, Dr. Z, Earl Funk, Ken Deft, and Boy Kong. On Thursday, May 15, each artist will have pictures of their murals and several other pieces of their work featured at an art exhibit that will be held by Orlando City SC at the Snap Place, capping off a week long art campaign in Orlando. The exhibit is set to run from 5-9 p.m., beginning with a VIP reception from 5-7 p.m. At the conclusion of the VIP session, the exhibit will then open to the general public, allowing fans an opportunity to observe the exclusive photos and meet the artists! |
