Left-back eligible for Saturday's match against OKC Energy FC

Orlando, Fla. – Orlando City SC announced today the signing of Haitian International Bitielo Jean-Jacques, pending USSF approval. The 23-year-old defender joins the Lions on a one-year contract and will be eligible for selection in City’s match against OKC Energy FC on Saturday night.

The signing of Jean-Jacques provides depth for Orlando City’s back-line after veteran Defender Rob Valentino suffered an injury in the 32nd minute during the Lions’ match against the FC Dallas Reserves earlier this week. Valentino is expected to be side-lined for at least two weeks due to the ankle injury.

Despite being only 23 years old, Jean-Jacques has already spent time with two former USL PRO clubs. The left-back began his professional career in 2011 by signing with River Plate Puerto Rico.

The following year, Jean-Jacques joined Premier Development League (PDL) side Ocala Stampede before signing with former USL PRO side VSI Tampa Bay FC in 2013. While with VSI, Jean-Jacques recorded four appearances and one goal.

At the international level, Jean-Jacques has featured in the U-17 FIFA World Cup and also made several senior team appearances this past year.
