Orlando City SC is set to play Oklahoma Energy FC for the first time in club history on Saturday, April 26. Kick-off for the match against OKC is set for 8 p.m. EST

Fast Facts:

  • OKC is coached by former Sporting KC 'keeper Jimmy Nielsen, who retired in 2013 after winning the MLS Cup with Sporting Kansas City. Neilsen played professionally for 19 years before being named Head Coach of OKC.
  • Assistant Coach Chris Spendlove grew up in Liverpool, where OCSC became very familiar with him and even oversaw his growth during his time with the Austin Aztex.
  • Three former Lions- Jon Kempin, Christian Duke and Kevin Ellis- will rock the green kits this season after returning to USL PRO with the Energy FC. All three players were integral pieces in the Lions' championship success in 2013.
  • The match on Saturday will serve as OKC's first-ever home game, which will be played at Pribil Stadium, after playing the first four games of the season in California, Arizona and Texas.
  • If not for the first leg of the I-4 Derby, City would face OKC in back-to-back games when the Energy come to Orlando on Sunday, May 4.

Notable Numbers:

7- Seven different Lions have gotten onto the score sheet in the first the five games of the 2014 campaign.

3- Kevin Molino recorded a brace on Tuesday against the FC Dallas Reserves for his second and third goals of the season. In the previous three seasons with Orlando, Molino has never scored more than two goals in a single season.

2- Despite the Lions’ slow start to the season, the Lions have scored seven goals in their last three matches, putting the club tied for second in most goals scored so far in the season. Only the LA Galaxy II has scored more goals (11).

1- OCSC Head Coach Adrian Heath’s club has yet to concede a point to an opponent this season as he has his squad holding onto first place atop of the league table going into this weekend’s match.
