CHICAGO (Oct. 21, 2013) - More than 10,000 tickets have been sold for the U.S. Women’s National Team’s game against Brazil at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 10. Ticket sales passed 10,000 less than four days after going on sale to the general public.

“This is another reminder of the tourism and economic impact associated with an international soccer game, and we are excited to welcome so many traveling fans to our region,” said Orlando City SC President Phil Rawlins. “We’re thrilled to be working closely with U.S. Soccer on this match, and we hope that we’ll have many more marquee events like this in our new downtown soccer stadium.”

Today’s announcement comes one day before the Orange County Board of Commissioners will vote to fund a new downtown soccer stadium. The stadium is part of a 50/50 public-private partnership proposed by Orlando City Soccer Club – and which is vital to the Club’s MLS aspirations. A positive outcome from Orange County tomorrow, following a unanimous (7-0) vote from the City of Orlando Board of Commissioners on October 7, would allow Orlando City to enter into final negotiations with MLS to award an expansion team.

Tickets for the U.S. vs Brazil game -- the final match of the year for U.S. Women -- have been sold to fans from 32 states, one U.S. territory (Puerto Rico) and four foreign countries (Canada, the Cayman Islands, Great Britain and the Netherland Antilles). The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on NBC. Fans can also follow along on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and on Twitter @ussoccer_wnt.

Tickets are available through ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout Central Florida (including many Walmart locations), as well as the Amway Center ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). Tickets are not sold at the Florida Citrus Bowl except on the day of the event.

Groups of 20 or more can obtain an order form at ussoccer.com or call 312-528-1290. Ultimate Fan Tickets (special VIP packages that include a premium ticket, a custom-made official U.S. National Team jersey with name and number, VIP access to the field before and after the game, and other unique benefits) are also available exclusively through ussoccer.com.

The meeting of the world’s top-ranked U.S. team against fourth-ranked Brazil marks the first match between the countries in the United States since 2008, when the USA pulled out a 1-0 victory in San Diego. The teams have played three times since: in Beijing, China, at the 2008 Olympic gold medal game; in Dresden, Germany, during the historic 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarterfinal; and in Chiba, Japan, during an international tournament in April 2012.

The match will be the USA’s first visit to Orlando and the Citrus Bowl since May 22, 1999, when the Americans also played Brazil. That 3-0 U.S. victory featured Mia Hamm scoring her 108th-career goal to break what was at that time the international scoring record.
