ORLANDO, Fla.- Orlando City SC (15-3-6, 51 points) travels to play current first-place Richmond Kickers (14-1-9, 51 points) Wednesday night at City Stadium in Richmond, Va., with the game carrying potential championship implications. The winner will be crowned the 2013 USL PRO Regular Season Champions. Kickoff for the game is set for 7 p.m. EST.

“Since the beginning, our goal is to win a regular season title,” said Orlando City Head Coach Adrian Heath. “That hasn’t changed and we look forward to Richmond on Wednesday.”

As it stands, both clubs are tied for first in the USL PRO table with 51 points. A win Wedesday night would mean Orlando would, in total, have 54 points and 16 wins. Even if the Lions were to lose and the Kickers win Saturday night in their respective regular-season finales, Orlando would hold the advantage of total wins (16 over 15) – the second differentiator of a tiebreaker outside head-to-head play.

Other scenarios occur if Wednesday night’s meeting ends in a draw, with Richmond holding the advantage going into the final Saturday of the regular season, due to the 2-0 win over Orlando earlier in the season.

Orlando is coming off an impressive 2-0 win over the Seattle Sounders FC Reserves Sunday night, with Kevin Molino scoring the quickest goal in franchise history (32 seconds) to propel the Lions in the victory. Defender Rob Valentino also scored in the win. Since falling to Pittsburgh on August 3, the Lions have rattled off three straight victories to put them in contention for a title.

Richmond has had an impressive 2013 campaign, losing only one time in 24 games. The club is led by Midfielder Joseph Ngwenya, who has eight goals on the season. Fellow Midfielder Nathaniel Robinson has also put up an impressive nine assists, good for third in the league.

The Lions have already wrapped up home field advantage for the quarterfinals, which is set for Saturday, August 24, at Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl. Opponent for the match is TBD. A win would advance Orlando to one of two semifinal matches, which would also be held in Central Florida.

A regular season title would guarantee home-field advantage for the club throughout the 2013 USL PRO postseason.

A watch party at Harry Buffalo in downtown Orlando has been organized for the away match. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the event. The first 100 fans through the door will receive a ticket for free beer (age 21+). Season ticket holders are encouraged to bring their season ticket reward card, which presented will be 20 percent off the final bill.

Harry Buffalo is located at 129 W Church St, Orlando, FL 32801. Parking is available at lots around the immediate area.
