Orlando, Fla.--Orlando City and Phoenix FC announced Wednesday the loaning of Defender Renan Boufleur to the Lions for the remainder of the 2013 season. Boufleur will be available for selection as Orlando takes on the visiting Richmond Kickers Saturday, June 29, at Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

The Brazil native has appeared in 15 games this season for the expansion Phoenix side, totalling 1,289 minutes – good for fifth best on the team. The Wolves are currently 2-9-5 in 2013, compiling 11 points in the league table. Boufler began playing professionally in 2008 with renowned club Santos FC. Following a season with Belgium’s RSC Anderlecht in 2009, Boufleur joined the USL PRO’s Phoenix FC for its inaugural season.

The loaning boasts the Orlando City backline, who saw Defender Kieron Bernard retire on April 30 due to injuries. Orlando has only allowed 11 goals through 13 games played in 2013, good for second best in the league behind the Richmond Kickers.
