Initial Call To Action Making Significant Strides Unprecendeted amount of responses in favor of MLS in Orlando follows call to action
In the last 24 hours, thousands of people have called, emailed and used social media to encourage passage of legislation that would bring a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise and stadium to Central Florida. After a letter was released by Orlando City President Phil Rawlins urging fans to contact their local and state representatives yesterday, an unprecedented response followed. E-mails and phone calls poured into the offices of local and state representatives, showing that people in Orlando truly want to see MLS and a new soccer stadium in the area. And the best part of this push? It’s working. People are talking about what movement we’re creating right now, including those key representatives in Tallahassee, Fla. The extra conversation in the State House and Senate puts MLS and Orlando City at the forefront, with a decision to be made by next Friday on whether this can become a reality. We urge fans to not worry about the specific bill, but rather encourage people to simply ask their represenative to pass legislation that will bring MLS to Orlando. Bill numbers change but the idea stays the same- MLS will be a great addition to the Central Florida sports landscape. If you’d like to see how to contact your representatives or read the original letter from Rawlins, click here. Opportunities to add a top-tier professional sports franchise to the state are very rare, and now is the chance to do so. Let’s keep pushing and continue to reach out. Every call, email, post and tweet counts. |
