Orlando City continued its preseason winning streak Saturday, beating Florida Gulf Coast University 6 – 0 in a friendly at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Sanford, Fla. Fans who attended saw all four of the players on loan from Sporting Kansas City play in the game, an exciting addition to the Orlando squad that now stands at 22. The team has turned their attention to this Thursday, March 21, when the Lions square off against Rollins in the first away match of the collegiate preseason series. The last time Orlando City played at Cahill-Spur Field at the Barker Family Stadium, Orlando fell to legendary club A.S. Roma to kick off the 2013 preseason, with all proceeds from the match going toward the Orlando City Soccer Foundation. This week’s match is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff. The Lions have won both of the previous matches, 3-1 (2011) and 1-0 (2012). 2 – Two of Orlando’s players will be playing their collegiate team on Thursday, including Dennis Chin and Justin Clark. 24 – The Lions have scored 24 goals so far this preseason, including the collegiate friendly series. Having played eight games so far, Orlando is averaging three goals per game. 15-4-2 – Rollins finished the 2012 season with a 15-4-2 record overall.
