Stats and figures behind Wednesday's collegiate friendly against Stetson at the Seminole Soccer Complex

Orlando City rallied to win the first leg of the I4 Derby presented by United World Soccer Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rowdies at Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl. Goals from Jamie Watson, James O’Connor and Jean Alexandre propelled the Lions to the win after being down 1-0 early in the match.

The team now looks ahead to the next preseason collegiate friendly against Stetson University Wednesday night. The match marks the third meeting between the two teams, with the last matchup ending in a 3-0 victory for the Lions. This is also the first time new signee and Altamonte Springs, Fla., native Jonathan Mendoza will be play against his old team since graduating in December.

The game against the Hatters kicks off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Let’s see what’s in store for the matchup by going By The Numbers…

3-2-1 – Orlando City’s record for preseason stands at 3 wins, 2 loses and one draw. Two out of the last three wins have come against the Tampa Bay Rowdies (NASL).

4 – With Watson’s goal against Tampa Bay, he is the top City goal-scorer so far in the 2013 preseason. City has scored 11 goals total in 2013.

25 – Wednesday’s match marks 25 days until the start of Orlando’s 2013 USL PRO season opener in Phoenix, Ariz.

9 – Stetson’s Kai Eckenrod has been the Hatter’s standout player (outside of Mendoza). Eckenrode scored 15 goals in 15 games in 2012, filling in for the injured Mendoza for the team last season.
