The Lions concluded their campaign at the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic (PSC) with a 2-0 win over cross-state Tampa Bay Rowdies last Saturday, with both Jamie Watson and Dennis Chin scoring goals against the NASL’s 2012 Champions. Riding the positive ending of the 2013 PSC, the Lions continue preseason play this Saturday in their first collegiate friendly vs. Florida International University (FIU). The game is being played at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Sanford, Fla., with kickoff set for 4 p.m. Saturday. Let’s see what’s in store for the matchup by going By The Numbers… 1st- This is the first ever meeting between FIU and Orlando City. 6- Orlando City will be looking to keep up the team’s collegiate record from last year, winning all six of its games against university teams in 2012. 6-3-1 – FIU won more away games than home games last year in NCAA play. The team was 8-8-2 overall for the 2012 season. 7 – Orlando City’s defensive line will have to look out for FIU’s No. 7, Quentin Albrecht, who played 17 games and scored 17 goals for the Panthers in 2012.
