Quote Sheet Quick thoughts on today’s match against Philadelphia from the Orlando City squad
Orlandocitysoccer.com sat down and spoke to several Lions players to talk about the upcoming Disney Pro Soccer Classic tournament and what facing the Philadelphia Union will be like on Saturday. Hereʼs what they had to say about today’s match. Adrian Heath (Head Coach): We play every game to win the game. Most MLS (Major League Soccer) clubs are two weeks ahead of us, but weʼre going to be OK. Weʼll be committed as ever and looking forward of making a good show. Rob Valentino (Defender): They are (Philadelphia Union) going to be a strong side, we’ve just got to worry about ourselves, stay fit and play our game. If we focus on our opponent too much it takes our head away from ourselves. Anthony Pulis (Midfielder): Itʼs preseason, so we donʼt expect anything less (than a win). Coach and the rest of the team are committed to winning everything. James OʼConnor (Midfield): Weʼre looking forward to the game on Saturday after a long break. Weʼve been working hard, but it will be nice to have a game of football. Iʼm really looking forward to it. Jamie Watson (Forward): For us it’s motivation to put it toward a game. We get a chance to prove our hard work, and itʼs rewarding. The true way to reward ourselves is by putting up a good performance. Dennis Chin (Forward): Weʼre trying to show we can perform on a high level, so we can keep building on that. Preseason is a lot of work, but we have to make sure we keep a good chemistry within the team. Miguel Gallardo (Goalkeeper): Itʼs going to be tough tournament, but we know if we play collectively for 90 minutes, good things can happen. The match kicks off at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at 6 p.m. Saturday night. The match will be streamed live via MLSSoccer.com.
