Orlando City at the Mowl-a-Thon A staff recap of what happened at the Mowl-a-Thon on Saturday
On Saturday, the MORLANDO CITY LIONS charity bowling team(s) competed in a friendly competition at Colonial Lanes. The two squads, one of players and the other staff, went into the game with a competitive mindset. The players should have had the major advantage, simply due to their professional athlete status. And we expected them to play better! “It was sad, really,” said Orlando City President Phil Rawlins. “I was expecting the players to come out and really play strong, but that wasn’t the case!” The staff team defeated the player team “Guys and Balls” - which consisted of Rob Valentino, Miguel Gallardo, Erik Ustruck, Ian Fuller and superstar fan Shawn Lane. The total scores were the deciding factor, with the staff team “I can’t believe it’s not gutter” coming out on top in each leg. Head Coach Adrian Heath, one of the stronger members of the staff team, also commented on the domination. “I think they need to stick to a sport their good at,” said Heath. “Shawn (Lane) was the only respectable one on their team. Put simply, we whooped’em!” *As a footnote, the game was held in a fun environment with the players actually beating the staff by the narrowest of margins, unlike the description above. This recollection was done by staff members who was emotionally disturbed by the loss! We appreciate all who came out and are looking forward to fully growing out the mustaches for Movember! |
