Here's this week's Alumni Report.Lewis Neal - DC United Lewis Neal’s DC United traveled this past weekend to Columbus to face the Crew. Neal played the first 65 minutes of the match before being subbed out of the game for Maicon Santos. Chris Birchall of the Columbus Crew scored the lone goal of the match in the 46th minute minute from a left footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner, with the assist coming from Jairo Arrieta with a through ball. Check out Lewis Neal during his next match as D.C. United host Paris Saint-German as a part of the Herbalife World Football Challenge on July 28 in RFK Stadium. Yordany Alvarez - Real Salt Lake Real Salt Lake played against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, July 21 in the Rocky Mountain Cup. Yordany started for RSL and played the entire 90 minutes of the match. Real Salt Lake defeated the Rapids by a score of 2-0. The first goal of the match came during the 32th minute and was scored by Alvaro Saborio. The shot came off of Sabrio’s right foot from very close range to the bottom right corner of the goal. The second goal came much later in the match in the 90th minute from Will Johnson. The Canadian international found the net with a right footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom left. The win took Real Salt Lake (12-7-3) back to within four points of the Western Conference leading San Jose Earthquakes. Follow Alvarez and RSL as they are back at home against the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 27 at Rio Tinto Stadium 9:00 PM. Lawrence Olum - Sporting Kansas City Olum’s Sporting Kansas City hosted the New England Revolution last Saturday. Olum was subbed into the match for Michael Harrington in the 89’ minute. This was the defender’s first minutes back onto the field since his left groin strain injury against the Houston Dynamo on July 7. Sporting KC ended the match in a scoreless 0-0 draw against the Revs. Next Olum’s, Sporting Kansas City host French Ligue 1 champions Montpellier in a friendly on July 24 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park 7:30 PM. |
