Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
- OCYS U16s started the Disney Cup in outstanding fashion, winning 7-0 over Puerto Rico Caribbean All Stars FC. With this being the first official tournament the Orlando City Youth Teams will participate in, the girls stepped up their game, striking early and often against their Puerto Rican opponents.

Evelyn Neidert opened the scoring on a spectacular set piece from the side of the box. Eve bent it right into the upper 90 leaving all in attendance in awe. Eve was not done as she blasted a shot from 25 yards out that Emily Tipton followed up to put the Lady Lions up 2-0 just 11 minutes into the game. McKinley Crone, a rising U14 State Team ODP player, chipped the All Stars keeper on a follow up of a Sabrina Magno shot to make it 3-0. The first half finished with some great combination play that resulted in a Megan Penhaligon goal from the right side and a 4-0 halftime lead thanks to a nice feed from Eve Neidert.

The girls continued to finish quality opportunities in the second half as Sabrina Magno took a Haley Denton pass and beat the keeper from 20 yards. The pressure remained constant although OCYS was concentrating on possession and playing through their outside backs. Nicole Doolittle ripped a Lydia Knapp pass from 25 yards to make it 6-0 and Kasey Rakauskas finished a short corner from Haley Denton and Lydia Knapp to close out the scoring.

The Lady Lions spent time taking pictures with their Caribbean Stars opponents and exchanging gifts long after the game ended. The girls are on the field tomorrow at 8 AM to play Gurabo FC from Puerto Rico and finish pool play with CSSE Impact from Canada on Thursday.

Outstanding Player
:

Evelyn (Eve) Neidert was outstanding with a goal and two assists in a little more than a half of action. “Eve set the tone in the first half,” said Coach Bobby Hurring. “She gave us an early advantage and helped put us up by two goals 11 minutes in, this allowed us to work on bringing our backs forward. I was very pleased that all goals in the second half involved an outside back, goal or assist.”
