StoreFinancial and Minnesota Twins Form Partnership in Prepaid
With StoreFinancial, teams like the Twins can connect fans directly to sponsors,
both inside and outside the stadium

StoreFinancial announces a partnership with the Minnesota Twins for a new, private-label gift card. A new Minnesota Twins gift card is available for purchase at the Target Field box office, over the phone, at the Twins Majestic Clubhouse Store at Target Field, and at three off-site pro shops located in Roseville, Minnetonka and Apple Valley, Minnesota. Gift cards can be redeemed at all Twins pro shops as well as any merchant at Target Field for merchandise, concessions and tickets. This program is new in the professional sports industry. It is the only gift card that uses a restricted authorization network (RAN) to allow purchase and redemption at any merchant the sports team chooses – either inside or outside the stadium.

StoreFinancial is program manager and payment processor for the Twins’ program. The Twins chose StoreFinancial to help provide fans more choice and convenience. The program features four different card designs and is available for purchase in denominations of $25, $50 and $100. Kip Elliot, CFO, Minnesota Twins explains, “Gift cards give our fans a convenient way to share the baseball experience with friends and family. Fans can also use gift cards for themselves as a way to manage their spending at games, or if they don’t want to carry cash during the game.”

StoreFinancial’s RAN technology enables organizations to connect with any merchant through a single prepaid program, regardless of point-of-sale (POS) system. Changes to POS hardware and software are not necessary to implement a StoreFinancial program. Merchant activation is easy and completely turnkey, expediting time-to-market.

StoreFinancial entered the professional sports market in April 2013 with the launch of the Fan Experience Platform. This platform, which is delivered in the form of plastic card, virtual card or promo code, enables teams to engage their key sponsors through customized prepaid solutions. Teams can customize a promotion to drive consumer spending to a specific sponsor location or event – inside or outside the stadium. Other prepaid solutions cannot replicate this type of sponsor engagement. More teams like the Twins can partner with StoreFinancial for a gift card program or the Fan Experience Platform, or both. With either solution, teams enjoy the benefits of a customized merchant network and increased sales opportunities.
