As the Forum grows and the family becomes larger, there are many memories to share and new relationships to be pursued in the near future. The 7th annual Case Cup Competition kicked off Saturday morning with eight schools eager and determined to be crowned champion. The schools included: University of Oregon, University of South Carolina, Wichita State University, Ohio University, George Washington University, Canisius College, Temple University and Florida State University. The teams were separated into two flights and received the case based on when they would be presenting Sunday morning. From the moment the teams received their case, they had exactly twenty-four hours to create a marketing plan for presentations.

Sunday morning saw the beginning of the Case Cup Semi-Finals where each team had twenty minutes to present their marketing plan to our team of judges composed of sports business professionals including: Steve Dupee, GMR Marketing; Sue Hollenbeck, OKC CVB; Lydia Dubuisson, Texas A&M University; Abe Madkour, Sports Business Journal / Sports Business Daily; Jonathan Norman, GMR Marketing; Dave Synowka, Robert Morris University; Denise Parris, Florida Southern College; Bryant Pfeiffer, Major League Soccer.
Emerging from the semi-finals as our two finalists were the University of Oregon (Matthew Van Wyen, Christina Early, Jenny Swaim and Gary Wang) and Ohio University (Mike Dirmann, Mike Wendling, Laura Waters-Brown, John Bollinger). After the Case Cup finalists presented, all eight teams had a chance to unwind and network amongst themselves after two days of continuous preparation and execution of the case.
Along with the Case Cup, five Stand Alone Days took place throughout Sunday including the Inaugural Diversity Day of 2013, Motorsports, MLB, MiLB and Ohio University Alumni.
Sunday evening concluded with the Opening Night Celebration presented by Disney Institute at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Exhibitors and Attendees were given an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour before enjoying food and drinks with old and new friends.
The 2013 National Sports Forum officially started with the Newcomers Breakfast led by NSF Steering Committee Member, David Martin. Immediately following breakfast, attendees headed to the general session hall for Opening Ceremonies and the first Super Panel of the 2013 NSF - "The Disney Approach to Quality Service- and its Relevance in Sports" sponsored by the Disney Institute. The panel began with a presentation from Jeff Noel of the Disney Institute. Following his presentation, Rick Horrow (Horrow Sports Ventures) moderated a panel discussion featuring Alex Martins (Orlando Magic) and Steve Hank (Arizona State University).

After a quick coffee break presented by FISH Technologies, the first batch of Breakout Sessions began. With a total of 14 breakout sessions to choose from on Monday, all of our session leaders had much to discuss with the Forum attendees taking away key insights.
Headed into the afternoon Super Panel, the 2013 Case Cup Winner was presented to the audience of attendees. The students from the University of Oregon were crowned champions after a long and difficult deliberation by the judges.

After the Case Cup announcement, attendees enjoyed the "And Now a Word From Our Sponsors" Super Panel sponsored by Daktronics. This panel discussion on sponsorship was moderated by Steve Dupee (GMR Marketing) and featured panelists: Jamie Kerr (AT&T), Nancy Altenburg (FedEx) and John Cordova (Coca-Cola).
Monday evening wrapped up with the NSF Opening Night in the Trade Show. The trade show hall was filled with vendors, attendees, food, drinks and countless networking opportunities.

The final day of the Forum began with the announcement of 2013 NSF ADchievement Award winners. The NSF ADchievement Award recognizes the best sports-themed advertising in eight categories. The 2013 category winners are:
Television - The PM Group
Social/Mobile Media - Houston Texans
Print - Oakland Athletics
In Stadium / In Arena - Minnesota Wild
Out-of-Home - St. Louis Rams
Sales Collateral - Orlando Magic
Alternative Media - St. Louis Rams
Internet / Web-based - Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Additionally, for having the highest quality of advertising across all categories, the Milwaukee Brewers were presented with the "NSF ADchievement Overall Award of Excellence."
Following the ADchievement Awards was the Tuesday morning Super Panel, "Ticket Sales in a New Era." This panel was moderated by Andy Dolich (Dolich Consulting) and the panelists who joined him were: Ray Elias (StubHub), Jane Kleinberger (Paciolan), Steve Griggs (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Tim Schuldt (Charlotte Motor Speedway).

After a quick morning break presented by FISH Technologies, our final two rounds of breakout sessions began, giving attendees an additional fourteen chances to learn from the industry's best minds.
The fourth and final Super Panel took place Tuesday afternoon. "What Keeps You Up at Night?" sponsored by Harris Corporation was moderated by Abe Madkour (Sports Business Daily / Sports Business Journal). Joining Abe was his panel which included: Amy Latimer (TD Garden), Joie Chitwood III (Daytona International Speedway), Pat O'Conner (MiLB) and Roger VanDerSnick (IMG College).

Following the final Super Panel was the 2013 Budweiser Gala, hosted by the Orlando Magic. NSF attendees and exhibitors took a quick bus ride over to the Amway Center where they were greeted by members of the Orlando Magic staff. Everyone in attendance was given an all-access tour of the arena which included the Amway Center's Grey Goose Lounge and OZone Section.
After the tour of the facility, everyone gathered on the floor of the arena for drinks and dinner, where we recognized our newest NSF 5 year alums, Decade Club inductees and we presented our 15 year football to Jason Bitsoff (Feld Entertainment) and Andy Dolich (Dolich Consulting). Also recognized during the Budweiser Gala was Channel 1 Media Solutions, the winner of the 2013 SAMMY Award, which acknowledges the year's best sales, advertising, marketing, management idea of the year.

Following the awards ceremonies, attendees were enthralled to hear from the guest speakers for the Budweiser Gala. Pat Williams, Senior Vice President of the Orlando Magic, spoke first before introducing keynote speaker Bobby Bowden, Legendary Coach for the Florida State Seminoles. Both speakers took control of the audience and left all in attendance deeply inspired by their words. The Budweiser Gala served as the perfect ending for biggest Forum in the eighteen year history of the National Sports Forum.
