Dear Faithful Readers,

As the editor of Selling It, I'm constantly scouring sports publications, the internet, and additional leads to find the latest and greatest revenue-generating sports ideas. Each time I think I've seen all there is to see and each time I'm blown away by a new technology or promotion a team has used to successfully move the needle. In addition to my love for all sports promotions, I'm also a huge fan of competition (Aren't we all? We are in sports after all), which is why award season here at the NSF is my favorite time of the year. The NSF ADchievement Awards highlight the year's best sports-themed advertising campaigns in eight distinct categories by pinning the best and most effective ad campaigns against one another. Who makes the best TV commercials? Who creates the best print collateral? Which social/mobile campaign blew everyone else out of the water? I don't know yet, but very much look forward to reviewing what teams/properties submit! I strongly encourage you to enter a campaign into the 2012 NSF ADchievement Awards...give your hard work the recognition it deserves! So, let the competition begin and may the best campaign win!

Enjoy the Feature,

Joe Shapero

PROGRAM TITLE

"2012 NSF ADchievement Awards"

OBJECTIVES

To showcase the top sports-themed advertising campaigns of 2011.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Entering the 9th year, the 2012 NSF ADchievement Awards will be presented January 30 - February 1, 2012, at the 2012 National Sports Forum in Oklahoma City, OK. This is your chance to pit your organization's advertising against the best and most effective in the sports industry - giving you the potential to "take a bow" in front of the entire industry, and be recognized as the leader in our business!

The NSF ADchievement Awards highlight the year's best sports-themed advertising campaigns in North America. Campaigns can be submitted in any of the eight categories below. Finalists in each category will be determined by a preliminary judging panel consisting of independent advertising experts. Then the attendees of the 2012 National Sports Forum will vote to determine the individual winners of each category.

In addition to the eight categories, the prestigious NSF ADchievement Overall Award of Excellence will be presented to the sports property with the best cumulative advertising.  The panel of advertising experts will determine the winner prior to the conference using the total score of each organization's top six individual categories.  A representative from the organization that wins the Overall Award of Excellence will be brought out (all expenses paid) to the 2012 National Sports Forum in Oklahoma City to receive the award live, in front of the entire industry! The more categories you enter, the better chance you'll have at receiving the Overall Award of Excellence.

Columbus Crew received 3rd place in the Alternative Category for their "BLACKOUT the Galaxy" campaign.
