ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City Youth Soccer(OCYS) announced today that through their recent merger with CFK they had been accepted into the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), the top youth soccer league for girls in the United States.  The ECNL is designed to identify prospects for the United States Women’s National Team. The top girls teams at OCYS will begin playing in ECNL in the Fall.

“We are very excited to be one of the first organizations to represent the state of Florida in such a quality league,” said Hue Menzies, CFK Krush Executive Director. “We strive to provide the best opportunity for every player that comes into our club, and the ECNL just elevates those opportunities for them. We hope that this league will continue to educate the meaning of ‘club’ to the rest of the country.”

‘When we talked with CFK about the possibility of our coming together as one club we knew that they had applied for ECNL status. We are delighted for everyone who has worked so hard for this to come together, it’s a great honor for us to be representing Central Florida at this level in the girls game” said Phil Rawlins, Chairman of Orlando City Youth Soccer.

Every ECNL club competes in the U-14 through U-18 age groups, in one of eight regional conferences of 8-10 teams each.  Orlando City will compete against the only other club in the state of Florida, the Brandon Flames.  Detailed information on the 2012-13 ECNL schedule, and the ECNL National Events for the coming year will be provided in the coming weeks.
