The campaign is encouraging fans to sign a petition stating ‘I believe in Major League Soccer (MLS) in Orlando!’ The petition is located on OrlandoBelievesinMLS.com, a website dedicated to spreading the word on the progress Orlando has made on bringing a second major league franchise to Central Florida. The goal of the campaign is to hit 15,000 signatures by the beginning of October. “Please get your friends, family and co-workers to sign the petition ‘I believe in MLS in Orlando!’ on the OrlandoBelievesinMLS.com website,” said Orlando City President Phil Rawlins in an open letter to the fans on OrlandoCitySoccer.com. “We want to surpass 15,000 signatures by the beginning of October, a lofty goal but one that will show the politicians just how passionate we are about bringing MLS here.” Originally, the club used the hashtag to encourage 15,000 fans to attend the 2013 USL PRO Championship on Saturday, September 7, at Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl. The hashtag caught on throughout Central Florida, with the club shattering franchise and league records with 20,886 fans attending the Championship.
