ORLANDO, Fla.— Orlando City SC announced Wednesday that Sporting Kansas City loanee and Goalkeeper Jon Kempin and Midfielder Jamie Watson have sustained injuries and will be out for a minimum of 3-4 weeks.

Kempin sustained his injury on July 17th in Pittsburgh against the Riverhounds in the 84th minute, pulling his right quad after a goal kick. The Sporting loanee made four consecutive starts prior to his injury, putting Goalkeeper Miguel Gallardo back in the starting role for the Lions. The injury occurred after Kempin played an impressive match in Pittsburgh, saving a penalty kick in the 37th minute while not allowing a goal in the 0-0 draw.

Watson fell to a calf strain just before halftime in Orlando’s recent win over the Harrisburg City Islanders. The midfielder was the team’s leading scorer, recording 10 goals while notching a team-high seven assists. Watson is expected to be out 4 weeks due to the calf strain.

Both injuries will be assessed throughout the upcoming weeks as the Lions have a break in play at the end of July before taking on six games in 15 days to start the month of August.

*OCSC Mascot Kingston will also be sidelined due to a left paw injury. His status will be evaluated alongside Kempin and Watson throughout the upcoming weeks!
