ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs, along with Orlando City Soccer Club President Phil Rawlins, will be touring PPL Park in Chester, Penn., on Saturday, October 6, to explore stadium options for a Major League Soccer franchise in Central Florida. The trip is the second in three weeks involving Central Florida mayors and Orlando City SC representatives.

The trip, which will occur at the end of the week, will consist of Jacobs and Rawlins traveling to Philadelphia to tour PPL Park, Philadelphia Union’s home facility. The two will conclude their tour by watching the Union take on the New England Revolution on Saturday night, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. EDT

Located along the Delaware River, PPL Park is regarded as one the top models for MLS stadium assembly, with construction totaling a cost-effective $120 million when it was completed in 2010. Orlando City SC has been on record stating they would like to be around the $100 million mark for a new stadium in the Orlando area.

Rawlins recently returned on a similar trip with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Rawlins and Dyer, along with key staff members, toured facilities around Kansas City, Kan., including LIVESTRONG Sporting Park- Sporting Kansas City’s brand new multi-purpose stadium.
