After a 4-2 loss to the Ocala Stampede, the Orlando City U23s turn their attention to the match against Southeast Division club FC Jax Destroyers. See what U23s Head Coach Joe Avallone had to say about tonight's match and some notes you should take down before heading out to the Seminole Soccer Complex.

Notes:

-The Destroyers were introduced in April 2011 in hopes to fill the gap of organized soccer in the city of Jacksonville. Have franchises for the PDL and W-League teams that both play under the FC JAX Destroyers name.

-Aidan Davison, 20-year professional player in England, joined the Destroyers last year as their head coach. -Davison has played in every division in the English Leagues and has represented Northern Ireland in the World Cup qualifiers.

-This year, Davison added Donough Holohan to the coaching staff as assistant head coach.

-Holohan has held numerous roles in professional soccer in the UK, serving as an Exercise Physiologist, a highly experienced coach educator and has been a lead tutor on the FA Fitness Trainers Award for several years.

-The Destroyers had a once in a lifetime opportunity to play the U.S. team in a closed scrimmage to help their preparation for the Scotland match back in May.

-The match is Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m. at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Tickets are available at the gate an hour before kickoff. Admission starts at $5 for kids 16 and under and just $10 for everyone ages 17 and up.

Quotes:

“I’m expecting a very good team. Jacksonville is going to have a lot of pride for that game, they want to get a win. We’re ready for them!” - Orlando City U23s Head Coach Joe Avallone on what he is expecting on Friday against the Destroyers.

“You find your character sometimes when things are down, when you lose. That’s when you find yourself a little. We had a great few days of practice, so we will see what these boys are made of.” – Avallone on how practice has been after their first loss.

“Very competitive right now in practices because everyone is competing for positions.” –Avallone on last week’s training sessions.
