Match Facts: U23s draw against IMG Academy Bradenton, Fla. – After defeating the Charleston Battery in a penalty kick shootout on Wednesday, Orlando City U23s tied IMG Academy 1-1 Saturday evening for their second consecutive draw during the first month of the Premier Development League season. It took almost the entire first half, but the U23s got onto the scoreboard first in the 40th minute of the match after a goal from Lucas Diniz. The former Radford University forward got in behind IMG’s backline as he ran onto a through ball forcing IMG’s ‘keeper to come off his line. In doing so, Diniz was left with open net after skipping past the keeper to bury the opportunity. IMG was able to level the match shortly after the second half kicked off. Substitute Yussuf Olajide was able to knot the game at one-all after Myles Englis connected a pass with the striker in the 47th minute. The U23s will continue their road trip next weekend on Saturday, June 7 when they take on Floridians F.C at the Central Broward Regional Park at 2:00 p.m. |
