After an impressive outing last night against Antigua Barracuda, the Lions now hold a 9-1-2 record a little past halfway in the USL PRO season. Check out this week’s three key storylines across the organization in today’s OC3.

1- Continuing to move forward- Orlando City captured their ninth win of the season last night against Antigua Barracuda FC in dominating fashion. City nearly doubled the shot output of Antigua, resulting in a 25 to 14 advantage on the game. The Lions now hold a five-point advantage over the rest of the league table, their biggest lead of the year.

Orlando now turns their attention toward Friday and the Harrisburg City Islanders. The game will be the first time since the two clubs met in the exciting 2011 USL PRO Championship, which was settled in dramatic penalty kick fashion in which the Lions won 3-2.

2- Harrisburg on a mission- The City Islanders have been on a roll in the US Open Cup. Forward Sainey Touray’s play in the tournament, including a two-goal effort against the New England Revolution last week, has the Islanders in the hunt with a legitimate chance to advance even deeper into the Cup.

Touray, who hasn’t scored in USL PRO league play in 2012, became just the third player from a third division club to score twice against a MLS opponent. Harrisburg will take on Philadelphia in the quarterfinals next week, three days after the Islanders face the Lions in league play. It will be interesting to see if Harrisburg will start a different lineup due to their legitimate chance in the Open Cup.

3- Orlando City Foundation- Orlando City Soccer Club Foundation’s Soccer and The City event is tomorrow, June 19, at Blue Martini. In a ladies-only event [21 and up], Orlando City players will teach the basics of the beautiful game and spreading the word of Orlando City.

Tickets, starting at just $25, can still be purchased via our online store or by calling 407-478-3979. Admission includes an introductory drink, appetizers, an Orlando City goodie bag and a special edition tank top that’s exclusive to Soccer and The City. All proceeds of the event go toward the Orlando City Foundation.
