U23s Notes and Quotes: VSI Tampa Flames

Notes:

-The international youth soccer academy, VisionPro Sports Institute (VSI) debuted their club in May 2012.

-VSI have teams in the PDL, W-League and Super-20 League with a USL PRO franchise to start in 2013.

-The Flames’ coach, Joel Harrison, has spent over 20 years in all levels in soccer in the U.S. His collegiate coaching record is 143-69-12 (11 years).

-Harrison’s coaching honors are: Gulf South Conference Coach of the Year (2001 & 2002), the NSCAA South Region’s Coach of the Year (2002 & 2005) and the 2005 Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year.

-Orlando’s match against the Fort Lauderdale Schulz Academy on Sunday resulted in a 3-0 victory, earning the U23s second place in the Southeast Division with 15 points.

-VSI Tampa is a close fourth with 12 points in the standings.

-The match is hosted by VSI Tampa on Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at JC Handly Park.

"I can see the team chemistry improving." - U23s Head Coach Joe Avallone on the team's improvement over the last few matches.

"We created plenty of scoring chances (against Fort Lauderdale on Sunday) and converted them." - Avallone on the U23s finishing in the final third of play.
