What better way to kick off (no pun intended) your morning every day than a small dose of Orlando City to get you going?  That's exactly what we're doing with our new feature, The Morning Roar.

So, Saturday was pretty fun, wasn't it?  Here at the offices, we couldn't be more excited.  The season is here, and like a freight train there's no stopping it now that it's moving. That being said, it is still preseason.  Just like the team on the field, we learned a lot on Saturday and will take those lessons to heart.  We'll also be operating at full strength by April 15th, as some of our video staff is still committed to UCF Athletics.  What is already a solid product will only improve.

This will be a very busy week for Orlando City.  Not only do we have the Disney Pro Soccer Classic coming up this Saturday, we're also going to be launching the new website this week as well as our new radio show.  We'll have more details on both very soon.  We're also hoping to make a major announcement regarding our youth program this week.  Be sure to stay tuned to the site for all of the latest.  It's coming in fast, so make sure you check back often!

Today I'll leave you with a couple fun facts from Saturday:
  • Saturday's attendance - 5,962 - was nearly double what last season's Philadelphia friendly brought to the Citrus Bowl.  That's an amazing year-to-year turnaround, and is all due to our fans passion and ability to get the word out through non-traditional channels and social media.
  • Chase Harrison, Philly's back-up keeper, has now played Orlando City four times (three times with Harrisburg City Islanders last year).  He has never shut out the Lions, and is now 0-3-1 overall against us.
  • Saturday's live chat had the 5th highest readership in Orlando City's history.  The four ahead (in order): Newcastle, Richmond playoffs, Bolton, Championship Game.
