Orlando City players have been busy this off season not only developing their own talents but also the players in the youth club. Several first team players have been actively involed in the Orlando City youth program by providing personal and team coaching.

The pro players have been able to provide valuable insight into the Orlando City philosophy of play which includes teams, ranging from the Little Lions to Academy teams, playing a fluid and entertaining brand of soccer based on possession of the ball and high levels of technical skill.

Boys Senior Academy Director Paul Shaw believes that having members of the first team coaching in the youth club, along with the system in place, can benefit the young players immensely.

"The pro players are coaching players from the Little Lions five and six year olds to the U16-U18 Development Academy and ECNL teams. They've been a great help so far and their interaction with the players has been great for the kids," said Shaw.

The first team players, however, believe that working with the young players has also benefited them and enjoy seeing their team's daily progression.

"I've got a great group of boys at the U10 level. They've come miles along since the beginning and I really enjoy seeing the day to day progress. We're looking to finish the season strong and continue to uphold the great reputation of Orlando City Soccer Club," said Erik Ustruck.

The list of players coaching include Miguel Gallardo, Erik Ustruck, Rob Valentino, Ian Fuller, Anthony Pulis, Luke Boden, and Dennis Chin. Be sure to look out for these players on the sidelines at their next youth match!
