Dennis Chin visits Cherokee School for Orange County's Teach-In

Orlando City forward and Orlando-native Dennis Chin sat in with students from Cherokee School on a few weeks ago, walking through different drills with the students while showing off the basics on becoming a soccer player.  Chin's appearance was part of Orange County's annual Teach-In.  Orlando City staffers visited several schools during the Teach-In.

Orlando City players and coaches have been active in the offseason with appearances, with locals like Chin going to schools and clinics to teach the basics of soccer to younger students.

In a recent interview, Orlando City Owner Phil Rawlins talked about how important community service was to the organization. “For us, it’s a part of the responsibility of the club. We have a responsibility to do those sorts of things and give back to the community,” Rawlins said.

“It’s being a good citizen.”

Chin caught on as a fan-favorite last season with the Lions, with his strong play and big smile. He’ll be entering his second season with City after signing with the team as a rookie from Rollins College.  Chin totaled four goals in the 2011 season, with two of those coming in the playoffs.
