Luke Boden originally signed with Orlando prior to the inaugural 2011 season and, along with Gallardo, is one of five players who have made their way onto the 2014 squad after joining the Lions in their first-ever season. Boden has been a consistent starter in Heath’s system over the past three seasons, playing in 61 regular season matches from 2011-2013. In 2013, the defender started all of the matches, appearing in (22) and playing 90 minutes in all but one time. In the community: Off the pitch, Boden is involved with BASE Camp Children’s Cancer Foundation, which provides a year-round base of support for children and families who are facing the challenge of living with cancer and other life-threatening hematological illnesses. The organization is particularly meaningful to Boden after he supported his mother who battled with cancer. As an active representative of BASE Camp, Boden continues to help raise awareness and support for local children with cancer. “I’m excited to be a part of this organization,” said Boden. “It is an honor to be able to help support children who are going through difficult times in their lives.”
