T-Bones Sign Lefty Pitcher Adam Bleday

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones announced today that the club has signed left-handed pitcher Adam Bleday for the 2018 season.

The 23-year-old Bleday was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 27th round of the 2017 draft. Bleday began his professional career in 2017 with the Astros rookie league team Greenville of the Appalachian League. While with the Astros he went 1-1 in nine games, with a 3.03 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 29​2⁄3 innings. He finished out the year with A- Tri-City in the New-York Penn League. While with the ValleyCats he went 1-1 in four games, with a 4.11 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 15 ⅓ innings.

Bleday made the next step up starting out 2018 with A Quad Cities in the Midwest League. While with the River Bandits, he went 2-2 in 11 games, with a 1.96 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 23 innings. Bleday continued to work his way up, next pitching seven games for A+ Buies Creek in the Carolina League. While with the Astros, he pitched in seven games with a 7.27 ERA and nine strikeouts in 8 ⅔ innings.

To make room for Bleday the T-Bones waived RHP Ian Hardman. In 2018, Hardman played in two games for the T-Bones pitching 1 ⅔ innings with two strikeouts.

The T-Bones return home Friday evening to take on the Texas Airhogs in the first of a three-game series. The T-Bones are 37-20 on the year with a .649 winning percentage.
