Back-to-back singles by Adrian Neito and Kjerstad quickly put two runners on base for the T-Bones in the eighth inning. Pennell reached first after being hit by a pitch, loading the bases for Kansas City. The next at bat, Tice reached first on a hit by pitch, scoring Nieto, and Kansas City took a 6-4 lead.
