KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Kansas City dropped an early one-run lead, falling 3-2 to the Grand Prairie AirHogs on Tuesday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in front of 8,452, the second-largest Tuesday night crowd in team history.

The T-Bones got on the board early with a sacrifice fly from Kennard Jones off AirHogs starter Jorge Lugo (2-0) that scored Felix Molina.

Grand Prairie answered in the top of the fourth, putting one run on the board off Kansas City starter Aaron Meade (3-2) on an RBI single from Kenny Held. The AirHogs took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth, when they scored two runs on one hit, two walks and two hit batters.

The T-Bones were capped at two runs — scoreless through the remaining four innings after Molina knocked in Jeff Squier, who had doubled. Grand Prairie pitchers struck out 11, including five strikeouts by Lugo.

“We chased a lot of balls out of the strike zone,” said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. “Lugo’s not really a strikeout pitcher but we made him look like one and put ourselves in a pitcher’s count most of the night against all of their guys.”

One bright spot for Kansas City was Devin Goodwin, who went two for four and extended his hitting streak to 17 games.
